Here are some of the Highlights of 2006 !

Cardinal Racquet Club had a lot of activity in 2007.  We had 18 Teams in the Spring, 15 teams in the Summer and 21 teams in the Fall, more than any other club in the upstate.  We had 4 USTA  sanctioned tournaments and the First World Team Tennis Tournament in the State. All of Cardinal’s tournaments were the biggest in Anderson; and the Cardinal Classic 2007, was the 2nd biggest Adult Tournament in South Carolina! It is a pleasure to work at Cardinal and I look forward to a huge 2008!

• Graduated with Honors from USC with a Finance and Economics Degree.
• Award for the Best Winning Record in the history of USC.
• Director of  Spartanburg Athletic Club from 2002 – 2005.
• Head Tennis Pro at Thornblade  Club from 1997- 2002.
• Certified USPTA Professional Level 1 with 10 years of experience in developing the games of many state and nationally ranked players of all ages here in South Carolina, and making tennis an enjoyable experience for kids and adults of all ages !

How Does a Ball Machine  Improve Your Game?

Ball machines perform unique functions that practice partners can’t.  Consistent, correct, repetition of stroke patterns is essential to producing a dependable stroke.  By providing a practice ball that has the same height, depth, and pace, ball machines allow strokes to be reinforced correctly.

Donna Shearer
Office Manager – Membership Services

Donna has been a member of Cardinal since 1988. She is the Secretary Treasurer of FTA and is the 4.0 Flight Coordinator. She says that she has played with, for, and against most of the players at the club. She is very warm, friendly, and most helpful with anything you might need. Donna’s office hours are Monday-Friday 8-11 am and Monday-Thursday 4-6 pm. We feel very fortunate to have her in the office.
